Masked Defenders Poem by Randy McClave

Masked Defenders

Thanks to all those who wear a covid mask
And getting a shot without being asked,
A great thanks to them one and all
Because of those caring people, our country didn't fall.
Thanks to them for their love and caring
When their coughs and sneezes they weren't sharing,
Thanks to them for not spreading the virus or their germs
Thank them all for abiding the law, and the terms.
When I was younger and in school I got a shot
I took it so, a deadly virus I would not have caught,
And God and my parents this they truly did know
Because of those shots, we ended polio.
When covid one day has finally ended
God thank the warriors in masks and how they defended,
And how those guardian angels put everyone first
Even the maskless people who pouted, lied and did curse.
So, I give a thanks to all those who cover their face
To them all I wish I could give them a loving embrace,
They showed the world their love and care
As we all breathe, the very same air.
