Masquerade Poem by Poetic Judy Emery

Masquerade

Masquerade
Masquerade to Get Ones way
Masquerade is your parade
Paper faces and lies to portray

Masquerade is on its way
Hide your face in the night
telling more stories and lies

The world will never find you!
In your purple outfit making out
to another lover of your best friend's brother

Masquerade!
Every face a different shade to impersonate
Look around and fantasia about who you like
there's another mask behind you

That you may know, but you won't find out
until the next day and it maybe to late
Flash of mauve
Splash of puce with a new kick

Fool and king playing around with dark queens
Ghoul and goose...
Green and black playing with cats
Queen and priest...dancing around
with the lost and found

Trace of rouge
Face of beast jerking around with rage
Rag dolls and candy sticks for all to lick
Masquerade is out for all to portray to get there ways.
