Matthew I: 1998 Poem by Jim Boone

Matthew I: 1998

At the close of the 20th century
one could rightly suppose
they were freer to express
the sexual orientation they came with,
in spite of the twofaced piety
of religious groups
who profess too much.

Any system of faith or worship
claiming love and obedience to God,
but by their doubletalk
and masked hatred,
contaminating their children, is evil

Those who wage war against
and kill anyone who is Gay,
because 'it's what their kind deserve'

must be dealt with through strong laws
that make it clear,
'If you act on your hatred for others
in a violent way,
there is a severe lesson in humanity
about to come your way, '
for hate crimes will be tolerated no more
not even by politicians and “good Christians”.
