Maybe Never Poem by Barbara Lovric

Maybe Never

Maybe someday i'll know who to look in the eyes, maybe by then i'll know who is looking me back
Maybe that day i'll asky you why you left
Maybe you'll tell me that day is what you regret
Maybe i'll cry or maybe i'll scream
But at least i'll know the other part that is me
You should know i don't deal with problems well
Or at all
Around here, they are pushed under the rug
And you, Anonymus, where my problem all my
life
From the day i sad "mama"
To the day she said it back
Maybe someday i'll even know your name
Maybe someday you could say the same
Hey, this is me, a part you've been missing all your life
Hey, maybe we can try to be something we should have been from the start

But sadly, someday is far away
And i'm scared
So scared
I'll be the only one who cared
Maybe you can hug me and i'll pretend i'll be fine
I can imagine what it's like to go back in time
To the hour you choose to go
To the minute you thought "i don't want her no more"
But sadly, someday is far away
And today i'm alone
And today i don't care
I don't care i'll never know what a family is like
Cause you've never been here
My mom is all that i've got
