Me! Poem by Ziyanda KUBONI

Me!

I see me through a different lens.
It feels like an out-of-body experience,
To truly absorb such a phenomenon,
Disguised as a mere commoner.

Layered like rose petals,
Yet filled with sweet words like love letters.

Both pain and joy are my companions;
They both draw tears like onions.

Eyes of a temptress,
Ensnaring unsuspecting victims into my fortress.

Pouring out my heart to the world,
I am a potter looking for clay to mould.

Me.

I am the clay, forever evolving,
A seed that is constantly growing.

Scribbling words upon a template,
I need to serve these feelings on a plate.

I want to cleanse my temple.
It's the only way
I can win this battle.
