Me Poem by Sharon Reniff

Me

What do you see when you look at me?
Do you see the same as I. A tires women full of hopeless dreams with tears that never dry.
I've lived a life of pain and loss and dreams that never came true. With lonliness the only reward I claim, with grey skies instead of blue.
I've tried to do the best I can as a Mother, Daughter, Wife, and friend, but my best was never good enough so again I am alone in the end.
I look back and regret so many things that I would have, should have done. But now those things are far from my reach like the distant setting sun.
Someday soon I'll go away to a land where there is no pain, where lonliness is a forgotten word with the smell of the summers rain.
