Me, Too Good For You - Poem by Carsten Thomsen

You're too good for me
You deserve someone better
She told me again
After
Breaking up
My World
For the last
Time
And I looked back
On myself
And realize
With shame
I was to blame
For my
Faithfulness
Honesty
And love
When obviously
All you needed
All along
Was a fat lip
And a kick in your
Skinny ass

Never
Trust
Things that bleed
For days
Without dying

Your expressions capture the emotions felt after a breakup well. Replaying the events, rewinding to the spot where you began to blame yourself for somone elses actions. Thank for sharing. I've also heard a similar quote about bleeding for a week w/o dying. Perhaps this was your inspiration? I must say though that women can be trusted. The use of the term never does add intensity to the poem though. Well done. (Report) Reply
