Mea Culpa Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

Mea Culpa

Mea Culpa

Have you a comparative clues, take hard looks at the evidences, strategems with the schemes,
limbs dismembered and the bodies mutilated, ?

mouths agaped at midnight's horrors,
eyelids fixated in terror,

comparing leads and night's culpabilities,
between insights and the atonishing clarities,

At the handwritings on walls, causations of the evil doings,
the cessations of the living breaths,

The magnitudes of glooms and it's significance,
it'sinsignificance on deaf ears and the blind eyes?

Incomprehensions of a good sleuths,
the daily tabloids and the headlines,

Fingerprints of these cruel criminal behaviors,
the lessons of these violent acts,
the complexities of these heinuous crimes,

Mass shootings, arsons and rapes,
The garroted or strangled to death,

However must a stone stand watched,
the markings of these moments,
The blaze of these endangered properties,

burned to crisps and cinders,
buried in untraceable earth plots,

What man have engineered, man have accomplished,
man had demolished
