Mean Minded Persons’ Wealth!
Even if these are blossoming buds
…that tempt to scoop in your palms,
no one shall put their hands on thorny cactus
…since these can’t be worn on their heads!
Likewise, the learned persons
…shan't approach the mean minded persons
who, even though, have enormous wealth,
…since their wealth may not be useful!

அள்ளிக்கொள் வன்ன குறுமுகிழ வாயினும்
கள்ளிமேற் கைந்நீட்டார் சூடும்பூ அன்மையால்
செல்வம் பெரிதுடைய ராயினும் கீழ்களை
நள்ளார் அறிவுடை யார்.262
