1
Sea creatures are my friends
Sea vessels are my relatives
How wonderful it is
To have such treasured friends and relatives
And to be a fervent student of the marine universe
2
The mysterious death drive
The Mediterranean, unaware of
What It Is
Fears not ruthless death
But permanent loneliness
And why?
Because, in its view
Death cannot possibly be
Blacker than dying all alone
3
Whether master or novice
Whether from the Mediterranean or not
Whenever prolific poets gather material
Drawing from the collective memory
Of the poetry-loving Mediterranean
They bring forth countless verses
Each worthy of rivaling the others
And then add them back
To that same collective memory
Whether master or novice
Whether from the Mediterranean or not
Blessings upon the pens of all poets
