Melody Of A Lost Soul Poem by Pete Rivera

Melody Of A Lost Soul

The streets are paved with people from our past
We need to dropp our debts if we want to make it last
This life of ours is nothing short but not too fast
If we continue to the destination of future we will surpass

When we see things that aren't really true
And we think, is it something to do with you?
Life is like a dissipating flu
It starts off slow till there's nothing left to lose

A world of lies is a world of infinity
Continue on and you'll see you destiny
Cuz life traps you in places you don't want to be seen
But if you pray to your God, then I know you'll be free

Trial of a man, trial of a man
Trial of a man
Trial of a man
Am I me? Yes I am
Yes I am
I am me, myself and I
I am me until I die
I am me when I smile and cry
I am me when I speak and lie

Stress is a knife from hell to the back
You bleed and bleed even when there's nothing left
A scar leaves you not unmarred and out of breath
But you'll still be alive to listen to the words I've said

The Universe can't help you answer their cries
Whatever you believe and whatever you despise
I extend my arm and say just don't be shy
I'm here with you, all those others can die

Who am I?
God judges me. Not you
Not you, not you
With God, there is nothing to lose

Trial of a man, trial of a man
Am I me? Yes, I am
Yes, I am
I am me, myself and I
I am me until I die

I will always live up to my own self
With no one else will I share my wealth
Cuz I deserve it after what I felt
Lies and lies in books I place on my shelf

A melody that I rather keep unturned
He hurt you so I really hope he burns
We make mistakes but never really learn
Who we are, and do we show concern

Who am I?
I am me
