Melting Me Away Poem by Zac Plague

Melting Me Away

The freezing winter weather
Compares not to the frigidness
Of my heart without you.
Without you, there is no warmth
Just an eternal December winter.
My veins are frozen solid
My heart is an iceberg,
One to sink the Titanic that is my soul.
My hands grow purple,
And I can see my breath
Forming a fog that does not dissolve.

But, when you are beside me
When my hand is entangled in yours
The sun starts to shine
The ultraviolet heat melts away
All the ice and snow.
It becomes Spring and
Eventually Summer.
And like the days in July
You warm me up and make me fly.
