Memories Poem by Standing in the Silence of Your Pain

Memories

I sit in the lonely solitude of my room
Tears stinging my eyes
Air burning my lungs
The strings holding my heart together
come undone
My eyes glaze over
get that faraway look
I sit still as a stone
Shaken by a memory
Of you
My love
For a moment you were here with me
Then thoughts invaded the stillness
And shattered the walls I built inside
I remember it ended
How 'We' are no more
There is a You
and a Me
