Memories Poem by Margaret Shaw

Memories

Rating: 5.0

I look upon my past,
And realize how time has flown so fast,
The pictures I hold in my hand,
Remind me of days that were grand.

Years have come and gone,
Memories were made and forgotten some,
The memories we hold most near,
Are those that we laughed and cried with those most dear.

Now I look upon what is to come,
And see what I wish to see become,
We never know where life may take us,
But must be ready for what life brings us.

Enjoy the day you are most present in,
Live as if you will never live again,
Laugh especially when you want to cry,
And love also when you want to say goodbye.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was going through pictures of family and friends and realized that many of those I knew had changed so much. I was very happy about this but realized that the memories I should have held dear I had begun to forget. I've determined that I will make the most of the memories I make from now on.
