Memories Are Just Like Gold Poem by Edwina Reizer

Memories Are Just Like Gold

Every time I think of you
I think of times when all we knew
was making love in morning hours
and everything we knew was ours.
Now those memories take their toll.
But the memories to me are just like gold.

*** For the stars are still in my eyes
And yet I know time flies so quickly.

No one sees the way I do
or knows those times that we've been through
when making love in morning hours
erased the tears that had been ours.
And how those memories took their toll.
But the memories to me are just like gold.

When was the first time you looked my way?
It seems like only yesterday.
When was the first time I looked at you?
Feels like yesterday for me too.

Now that we are getting old
my memories now are just like gold.
They shine on each new day I see.
Can't you see them just like me?
All those memories take their toll.
Still all those memories to me, are just like gold

REPEAT *** and then last verse.
