Memories of Old Poem by Franklin J. Warren

Memories of Old

At my age of eighty nine,
The body is no longer fine,
It is now memories that hold sway,
And they come day by day!

Beautiful moments that were mine,
Due to lovely ladies so kind,
Their faces etched in memory so clear,
And their voices also that I remember dear!

The body has declined in health,
At night thoughts come in with stealth,
And as sleep befalls I dream of long ago,
Of beautiful moments the brain does stow!

Moments with an old sweetheart of mine,
That takes me back through time,
And lets me be once more,
With those I did adore!
