Memory Lane Poem by Blake Lives

Memory Lane

There is no longer time for talking
Only a few seconds left for walking
A lingering moment to merely pause
To enjoy our memories and all of their flaws
To contemplate times when we would lye side by side
Smiling up onto a jealous blue sky
Remembering midnight visits when our lips would collide
How could anyone expect me to simply say good bye
It's sad because our love is a blessing not a curse
It feeds my every line giving life to every verse
But now there's nothing left to do
Except watch as my world becomes a painful scene of blue
Maybe one day we can be together
Even if it won't last forever
Until then take a moment and enjoy a stroll down memory lane
A peek into this lonely poet's bane
