Menagerie (1992r) Poem by Patrick Wescott

Menagerie (1992r)

Rating: 3.8

Strip me bare and desecrate my soul.
What is it you wish to see?
Do you want a field of roses,
or an urban wasteland?
Peer inside when you look at me,
I don't know what it is you seek.
Are you looking for innocence,
or expecting a menagerie?
Look outside and see a little boy.
Look inside and find a lion.
