Mental Invasions Poem by Monica Lanier

Mental Invasions

Some say my mental is not gentle and I'm baffled
Dissecting emotions like a scalpel
See if you can capture
This whipper snapper
Unraveling like a candy wrapper
Taking you hostage like a kidnapper
On a spree with my word melody
Displaying my artistry
Polluting the decree of poetry
Chopping it up like a machete
