Mentally Enslaving The American People Poem by Hebert Logerie

Mentally Enslaving The American People

When you work and don't get paid,
Unless you volunteer your precious time:
This is slavery in my book. That's a crime
Because people have bills. When you got laid
You got to get paid. I am sadly borrowing
This term from the prostitution dictionary
People work not for food, but for money
Furlough is a fancy word, robbing or stealing
Legally somebody's time is unconstitutional
You don't need to be a savvy lawyer to comprehend
This concept. Regardless of your institutional
Affiliations, this hurts. We all need to make a stand
"Open the government". People got to make a living
"We demand to end the shutdown". Be responsible
It's a shame that many partisans are hallucinating
They're blinded and deafened by politics. Be reasonable
Be patriotic! What happened to the American dreams?
End the shutdown today, right now. Stop blowing up steams
Open the government. Many people are mentally enslaved
This is not a rant. Leaders are needed to get this unpaved
This is not exaggeration. This is misery. This is slavery again
We need better leadership. This is painful and un-American
Free the people. Open the government and end the shutdown
This is no longer about border security. This hurts. People are down
Mexico will not pay for the border. You are not hurting Mexico
People are infuriated and fed up. You're hurting the American People.
