Mentally Clobbered After The Elections Poem by Hebert Logerie

Mentally Clobbered After The Elections

I felt psychologically battered and clobbered after the elections
Countless friends have experienced similar dreadful emotions
Voters were unhappy that their candidates were in dire situations
In the end, we had to pinch ourselves to fight the unusual depression.

Partisanship is packed with dangerous biases that ignore the reasons
We fight without thinking and the cops respond like it is open season
Sometimes, common sense goes away on long and distant vacations
That is when all hell breaks loose; ‘tis another election's occasion.

We must learn to advance to a more reconcilable and peaceful direction
Life is at times drowned in a salty sea of surprises and teachable moments
Regardless of the winners and losers, we must stand like gentle giants
We must be resilient and strong to suppress all assortments of emotions.

Unity and justice!
Love and peace!
