Do you listen to the messenger
As the message to you bring
Do you recognise the truth
As the words within you ring

Do you hear what the messenger
Was sent to say to you
Do you see another sinner
Speaking words so hard but true

Do you see the failing messenger
Who carries burdens to
Do you only see the failures
A messenger like me and like you

Do you listen to the messengers words
And miss a cry for help
Do you feel your own pain
While for others never felt

Do you hear the messengers voice
As Christ Jesus He did speak
Do you see only the sinner
Not Christ whom you should seek
