Can't believe the time gone by
Hours passed so silently
Wasting thoughts so mindlessly
Sharing with the world close to nothing
No regrets
No time for that
Reflections skipped
Reflections passed
Can't uncover all the deeds
To which I have responsibility
Not gonna try predicting futures
Only gonna live in this present time
Sometimes removed and so aloof
That the hours just tick by
All the days are gone now
All the promises gone now
All the people still in mind
What are they up to at this time
Have so many values been forgotten
Discarded over time
Disregarded and thrown out of line
At your lowest do they know
Do they come running to see you
For a quick hug and goodbye
Do they try to revive you
Do they succeed to comfort you in moment's time
Do they give a kiss goodbye
And discard you
Or maybe they're hit too hard
Not trying to be cold
But rather taken aback
To memories of gold
Give them time
Maybe they'll come back
Recover from their own graves
Or maybe they're down too deep
And will never find their way
Maybe just give 'em a hand
Pull them up and out of the dark
Bathe 'em in your brightest light
Brighter than the sun
But be careful don't pierce 'em
Don't blind them with your light
Gotta stay true to your roots
Maybe meet them on the other side
