Midnight's Wandering Soul Poem by Kenneth Romano

Midnight's Wandering Soul

A certain place in the dark
There stood shadows
Shadows of lonely souls
Longing for the comforts of love.

A certain place in the heart
Are hidden baskets of guilt
There found a bunch of carelessness
There rooted the trunk of hatred.

In the back of one's mind
A case of hopelessness ponder
Like the smoke in the chimney
Its life gently disappear.

Then the warmth of the fire rose up
Melting every snow in one's tired mind
So thus my tired hand, just beginning to feel the pulse
Giving courage to my thinning soul.

Don't know the right path
Don't even know why am wandering
But while the candle is still burning
Gotta creep back to the bed where am sleeping.

Nights usually set our spirit on a journey to search for answers to questions that haunt our minds. Great poem.
