It was on a night like any other when I heard it.
The most frightening noise I’ve ever heard.
Someone was dying,
In my town,
Right in front of my ears.
And I couldn’t do anything about it.
All I could do was listen,
As the sound pierced me, went right through.
That sound,
That fright.
That midnight scream.
