Midnight Song Poem by Arthur Alexandra Apeh

Midnight Song

Poem
Title: Midnight Song
Written By: Arthur Apeh Alexandra Ojima

O! On like parrot that cease its voice in the middle of sunshine.
I am the star that fears know dark neither the sun shine.
Yes! Am still hopeful until my palm smile.

Daffodil! Look at her beauty at night,
Look at her Shining like a black mirror in a bright sun.
Look her dry as it rain cat and dog in the middle of an ocean.
Look at her skin, standing higher than the tallest iroko tree,
That seethe not to bend nor shake even as the wind shivering.

Aye! To be in thy chamber and not to be in the world, O! My destiny seeks.
O! Look! Angel! Am all yours in grave, death and until we meet again in the selfish paradise.
Oh! Fear not if thou melodious tone cornice with me ring.

Mother of all beauty! Roman black Queen, My ears are open to hear thy aesthetic song.
Just as we sang yesterday in the middle of the night in Abiola garden.
Yes! Sing with thy tone of beautiful yesterday.
Oh! Fear No Bat nor owls that shout against thy song.

Sing! My love, even the tempting verse.
Yes! I will understand and my heart shall continue to dancing,
O! Until we take the chorus together in the garden of Petra when the day comes.
