Mighty Oak Poem by Sebastian Seal

Mighty Oak

I once knew a tree that spoke.
It said, 'Look at me, I'm an oak! '
It was anything but -
it was an old chestnut,
And wasn't very good as a joke.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Did you know that trees are not very good at English? They spell 'bough' as 'bow', and then compound this error by pronouncing it to rhyme with 'toe'. That's why they're full of knots.
