Miles Apart Poem by Natasha Andeyi

Miles Apart

You're everything and more I dream of in my one,
Every single detail of a prayer I can make to my Maker;
It's like you were created with me in mind.
That is why I look at you with more admiration and awe, the living Angel in human form.
There's nobody else I'd rather do this journey of a life with.

There's nothing precise about time, and the future is no one's ally to give details of its whereabouts.
So as much as I'm certain you're the one for me, part of me has to be ready for the untold.
That way, should things be otherwise from my dream, the pain will be bearable to say the least;
Because pain has done enough work on my little fragile heart.

You really are an Angel, the rest of the world agrees.
So I don't blame my heart for looking your way, and my soul for staying in your lane.
And what a gift it would be to be loved by you!
All I want is for my gut to be right, and hoping for things to turn out better than my dreams,
But should it turn out differently, I'll keep loving the Angel that you are, even if we're miles apart.
