Milling Rumours Poem by Paul Brookes

Milling Rumours

animated lips
excited saliva flows
red ripple rumours
such tasty pie
satisfactorily eaten
dissected
digested
secrets to unlock

heads nod together
such sanguine sages
they judge and judge and judge
with knowing smiles
coughs behind hands
whispered rumour
there in the town square,
the gossips flock
