Mind Games Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Mind Games

Rating: 5.0

Nature awaits and calls me home
Kneeling at the edge of the water
No creek, no river, no pond or lake
A hidden oasis fed by rain alone
A pool at the mercy of the summer sun
At the edge of a farmer's field hidden

Shallow glassy surface, smiling for me
The wind's ripple upon its face revealed
Ever so slight, delicate yet profound
The surface stirred by nature's whisper
Dancing clouds and blue sky mirrored
Cleansing my soul of humanities games

The imagery in this poem is simply breathtaking. Nature n humanity share a love hate relationship which you have illustrated through lovely images. Loved it.

Beautiful imagery and the description of the human mixing into it. You painted another layered picture with your words.

The blue sky with dancing clouds reflected in the shallow glassy surface of water in a secluded corner of a field, away from the noise and deceit of the madding crowd has such a calming effect on you. The collection of water which is at the mercy of the summer sun and fed by rain might go dry at any time. But as long as it is there, it invites your attention and you feel that it has a smile on its face inviting you to bask in its calm beauty. Enjoyed this lovely poem!
