~mirrors~ - Poem by Candie Saldana

I can see the lights in your eyes
from the distance
of eternity
carrying me towards the sound
the voice of love

The walls all around me
falling to the shadows of the past
letting the brightness fold in
to cover me

A new day, a new time
foretold by one
the mirrors magic seen again
whispering to me

Dancing thoughts of promises
flowing through my veins
from the banks of the still river
he flashed towards me a sign
the mirror cracked from side to side
no more spells be cast today

the pale light of the yellowed sun
shine for the last time
upon my heart

Take my hand
gently in yours
lead me down the path
to the flowers in the meadow
spread out like a blanket
for our picnic

Let me sit beside you so that
I can see the lights in your eyes...
