Misery Lingers Poem by Angel A. Lockwood

Misery Lingers

There's a spirit that follows me.
Not every eye can see
On a few occassions it whispered
I need, I want to hinder the
I am taking captive the free, and
All that will come with me.
I bring torment, who can flee?
I am always lurking to entangle thee.
I kept quiet, to give no conversation
Then commanded the darkness to flee.
As the Sun burst through to cover me.
