Missing Heart Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Missing Heart

Rating: 5.0

uncle sam was made a country
eliminating the aboriginals,
thrived on the hard labour
of hapless African slaves

he set a nation on fire
killing a million humans
sowed death in Vietnam,
before him, Hitler is a saint.

In spite of killing many millions
And causing massacre of more millions
he cries foul when he finds death
on his doorstep, just a few thousands.

Does he stop? No, he barters death,
through the terrorist outfit
feigning as a nation, israel,
the cruellest war criminals ever.

"israel has a right to defend itself":
defend against whom? the unarmed,
starving women and children?
the ill and dying in hospitals?

he causes the highest emissions
highest consumption of fossil fuels
his carbon footprint the highest,
but does nothing to save the world,

uncle sam gives nothing
but, takes all, including lives
he has separate laws,
one for him, another for ‘the others'.
