Missing M Poem by Victoria Gauci

Missing M

Rating: 5.0

I have a memory of having a child,
When I was just a child myself,
Seems that he has been taken away,
As if he's controlled by somebody else,

I remember being a good mother,
To this child I birthed from my soul,
He has removed me from his heart,
Now my heart will never be whole,

He roams the Earth and continues,
To pretend that I don't exist,
I have to block out the sadness,
Or my soul will remain in a fist,

Negative energy drains me,
It smothers the life force inside,
I continue to breathe and rise every day,
Forcing the pain to the side,

I carried him inside for nine months,
Listening to the song of his heart beat,
When he arrived into my world,
I thought my life would be complete,

A mother can't change the direction,
That her child chooses to go,
All she can do it step back and wait,
Her heart can never let go,

Here I am where I'll always be,
Because I am your mother,
Here is where I'll wait for you,
Loving you like no other,

Here is where I'll be standing,
On that day of hope and faith,
Here is where you'll find me,
I've been here so I won't be late,

Waiting for my child to find me,
For my love has never waned,
In a second I would give you,
All my love despite my pain,

It's called unconditional love,
It comes from a mothers heart,
The day I gave birth to this child of mine,
It was given right from the start.
