Missing What Others Have Poem by Ray Hansell

Missing What Others Have

I reach out my hand
But I’m all alone
I long to feel a touch
A touch I’ve never known

I miss the kiss of a woman
I miss that gentle touch
I dearly miss the closeness
That I long for so much

I miss telling someone
Goodnight to you my love
I always miss sharing
The stars in the sky above

I miss saying good morning
Did you sleep well last night?
I miss coming home from work
Hearing someone ask, was your day alright?

I miss all those things
That I know other people take for granted
I hope one day all the things I’ve said
Can all happily be recanted
