Mister And Miss Understand Poem by Paul Siekor

Mister And Miss Understand

We are Mister and Miss Understand
As if we are living in different lands
Why does it always dissolve into aggro
Why do I cry now just like Niagra

Theory of mind is what the shrinks say
All it means is that you didn't hear what I say
I can't imagine what your head's like inside
And you can't fathom what's inside my mind

And on we go and on we stumble
Under our breath each one's heard to mumble
My fault, your fault, do the right thing
I'm wrong, you're right, you're not wearing your ring

I just want you to see the real me
I just want you to see what I see
I just want you to feel what I feel
Not carry a wound that I cannot heal

What's the way out, what's the way out
What can break through the fog of reflection
Open minds and hearts and arms
Give us the way to clear perception
