Mom Poem by james Hamner

Mom

What would be if not for you?
Would we still be happy, no I think blue?
The house would be empty, not full of cheer.
We would be lost, without you here.
Who would soothe boo-boo’s, and dry all the tears?
How would we be happy, for all our years?
Our lives would be dull for not knowing you.
I know you think not, but it is true.
Who would navigate, and advise when to turn?
Would the girls still be smart and eager to learn?
Our minds would run wild and, wonder what was missing.
I would be lost; I’d miss all the kissing.
What about the T.V. and the remote controls?
Who would rule them, and remember all our shows?
Our world would be so much less than full.
Life would be boring, dull, and un-cool.
The answer is obvious, and easy to see.
You are the best mother ever to be.
