Mom Poem by Fallen Too Far

Mom

quietly, she comes into my room
it's almost midnight, and you can see it in her eyes
her bony feet and lined hands
her sad eyes the only thing peeking out
from the wall her face has become
a tattered yellow robe clings softly to her
a cheerful color on a dead face
tears come, words fall
as i sit across the room
her heart lying bleeding on the floor
she sobs and i sit blank, too full to move
i hurt for her, and her hurt becomes my pain
now it's long after midnight, and i want to crawl into the floor
and disappear
i see her close up again
lock it away for another rainy day
brave a smile just for me
i feel naucious
something is happening
