Mommy Forgot Poem by Laura Strom

Mommy Forgot

mommy never hugs me
never reads me a book
she doesn't even know
but she's dating a crook.

he hurts her bad
how could she not know?
wants me to call him dad
even tho it aint so.

my real daddy loved me
hugged me everyday
he would never hurt my mommy
in any sort of way.

mommy forgot me
all she sees is him
i wanna leave so badly
i pray for a wind
to blow me away
take me far
to a new home
so i can get a new start
a brother, sister, dad and puppy
but only in my dreams could it be so lovely.
