After Love - Poem by Laura Strom

Consumed by emotion
and full of fear
comforted only
by my last falling tear

I see your eyes
engulfed in despair
and all we can do
is wonder where
it'll go from here
after we break,
stray fron the nest
and invite heartache.

Enter our own;
grow old apart
and leave this world
with incomplete hearts.
