Monster Poem by Nicholas Smith

Monster

Anger building up swear any moment it could roar
Erupt on some innocent soul who doesn't deserve the wrath

But silly human should not have come on this path
Hath they not read the warning signs?

Clearly I'm a beast on the run from life and your vocals rung out
My animal instincts took over and ran about from the shadows

Friends are no where to be found I left those in my past transformation
Sadly they were not needed and now here you are like I was: alone

Seeing past the tough exterior I see you as a mirror
Fear, insecure, social acceptance, sensitive to life

How did I become to be you ask of me?
By becoming much like you but you pushed too far

I was already left in the sky because I was high on my own thoughts
But you brought me down each time you spoke

You choked and choked until I drew no more air
Stepped over my corpse and left me there

Resurrecting, the grounds grabbed what was once alive
My dark brown eyes turned cold my soul was no more my hands turned into claws

The heart was lost forever
It was tossed out with those stones you threw altogether

'Cannot blame the world' they state
But life's role was a substantial part in the play that made me this way

Words lost no more say
Beast with no beauty

Now that you've met my monstrous pain
Don't walk down my path again
