Monsters In The Dark Poem by Kelly Boutin

Monsters In The Dark

Close your eyes and find me close
You've traveled the whole world and more
Through the pain and sheets of rain
And monsters in the dark

Through mounds of snow piled high
Fairybooks and stacks of lies
Stories written for dying eyes
Love songs with empty titles

Planes that seemed to touch the sky
Like a colored water sunrise
Reflecting off the world

Teach me to see the skies
Show me all that you have seen
Come read and hear the voice
Of my eyes that beg to be understood

Let me throw I love you around
So much that I believe in love
Let me take your cold hand and try to warm you up
But till I find you, close your eyes
And I will close mine too
And feel close to you
As the night wears on
And all around us gather
Monsters in the dark.
