Moon Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

Moon

What's the object that radiates the sun's light at night
Mother Earth's only natural satellite in the dark sky
named after two known goddesses of old--
Seline by the Greeks and Luna by the Romans

It was said not very long time ago--
a rock smashed into Earth created you
you cause the tides of the Earth to move
as you quake your waters and drifted away

For centuries our ancestors looked at you
creating a rhythm that guides their path
from here below, the Sun and you look
about the same size but actually it's not

Thank you for inspiring writers like me
to create a small literary piece such as this
an awesome object that still baffles us
as we admire your beauty from afar
