More Than A Blast Poem by Adams King

More Than A Blast

MORE THAN A BLAST
They came dressed to address
Those wounds they can't redress
Nor can their condolence make less

What sort of consolation can be given
What word can be a magical healing
To those heart which has been broken

Haven't you heard it was a blast
For Emeka's mother saw him last
When his school bus disappeared fast

Bidemi mother still could not sleep
She can't bare the guiltresting deep
She parted with her having her whipped

Sumayyah's mother still recall as she cried
Begging to stay at home yet denied
After the crystal vision that she died

Where was God Daniel mother said
Is this the reward for my devoted faith
Or is this the daily bread for which I prayed

Yet death made it stamp on many lives
Abnormality beyond what could be revived
For some lost not one but two or five

Like the repeated down pour from the sky
The tears of parents never runs dry
For they can't bare the stings of goodbye

Touching rendition. The solemn tone raised the impact of empathy.
