More Than A Coincidence Poem by Angie M..

More Than A Coincidence

There is something to be said
maybe in the sorrow, faithfulness, and sacrifice
perhaps it's a commonality between her and I

I don't quite know yet.

But the day was drowsy, the task prolonged
(It always seemed to fall behind
something else)

So I brought her in a quiet space,
I could center in a world already silent to her
and steadily, each word was written, answered
then erased...
and it was just a room,
sometimes with quickly passing spectators,
but unremarkable.

Many, many questions passed
I could see her getting weary
so I was delighted she restored
when we found out she had once lived in my community
and that we explored

Then I could feel us getting weary
and then suddenly, exhilarated
when we found out she lived on my street
so we chatted long about Scotsman's Hill

But, it was when I asked her, her address.
It was not just the moment that glorified
but the abnormal physiological, to the tips of the toes
and the air.
The room was remarkable,
then the world

and connected passed that, when I was unsure if the world could understand...

but she did,
fully.
Our gaze uninterrupted
When I magnified my license

and she told me, how she loved looking out the kitchen window
watching the folks come up the hill
and though I only can share that in the winter
(it brambles on over the years)
so much of this
we will explore.
