More Than Life. Poem by Peri Morgan

More Than Life.

I don't know what I've done,
that makes you feel this way,
was it just for fun?
When you held me close that day.

Did I ever hurt you?
Perhaps it was mentally,
I really don't have a clue,
can you ever forgive me?

But for what?
Did I hurt you?
I know not,
what did I do?

Please can you tell me?
So I can put right,
whatever turned you away from me,
as you took away my light.

But was that you plan?
Did you know it all along?
You took away all I am,
even my joy of song.

You left me standing here,
in the darkness all alone,
no one else is near,
what did I do wrong?

Will you ever tell me?
What is in your heart,
at the moment all I see,
is the fact we are apart.

I love you more than day,
I love you more than night,
will you listen when I say?
I love you more than life.
