More Than What You See Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

More Than What You See

I want for anyone who ever offended me to apologize
before their baseless assumptions or claims took president
Be sorry you made an error in judgement
Something subtle may seem to be harmless
but there is no innocence in being deprived
When your spirit is ice, it gets crushed
Don't you ever forget how extraordinary I am
or that my might is king that reigns over all of society
and you may never allow those words to depart your lips
but you know I am so much more and will remember this
