More Towers Of Babel? Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

How many Towers must we build
Before we heed HIS Words?
When Babel was built long ago,
Towers to Heaven ~ Forbidden, we were told.

We must not into Heaven reach,
Until this World we leave,
For HE ordained the way for us,
And to HIS Will we must concede.

Great edifices we build around the World,
Reaching yet higher and higher.
Do we not ask for trouble yet again,
As against HIS Wishes we conspire?

Is there a reason for a higher Tower?
Were we meant in Heaven to live?
If we ignore HIS Words yet again,
We surely will be dead.

For HE did confound those ancient folk,
Who did the Tower of Babel build,
And promised all it would not happen again,
When those serious words HE spoke.
