Morning Poem by Meira Shete

Morning

Rating: 5.0

Morning breaks... streaks of amethyst and crimson...
Beckoning the birds to her skies...
As mountains shed the mists they clad...
Sunlight filters through chinks in the clouds...
Making the drops of dew to glisten...
Crystal pearls embellishing leaves and flowers.

Day comes forth, wrapped in her golden garb...
Enveloping nature in her enchanting blaze...
Resplendent blooms gaze demurely skyward...
Birds make bounteous music, dulcet twitters...
As every bit of world is caught up,
In a wave of freshness and splendour.

Evening comes, an array of dappled shadows...
Gold dips into the silver of the sea...
Clutching to its bosom the glorious day...
Spread wings alight on sleepy boughs...
Soft quietness descends, drifting silently to the ground.

Twilight diffuses delightful shades of colour...
Dusk spills her coffers of moon and stars...
Diamonds on the black carpet of night...
And peaceful sleep falls like a soft blanket...
Gently covering all diurnal life, till...
Another morning steps daintily into the world.
