Morning To Remember Poem by Francis Duggan

Morning To Remember

The sun like a red ball rise over the mountain
And then brighten and kiss the grass moistened with dew
As I stand here at ease by a crystal clear fountain
And feel happy to welcome a day that is new.

The song thrush's melody sounds oh so tender
This wild born bird feels light hearted and gay
And the skylark his enchanting skylark song render
As he fly towards the sky for to welcome the day.

The wild flowers are opening to the sun's warm caresses
And golden billed blackbird sing sweet melody
And pink breasted bullfinch in finch song expresses
His great sense of joy on a leafy green tree.

Oh how I wish that this morning could last a whole life time
Oh how I wish every dawning could be like this day
Of bird song and wildflowers and God's golden sunshine
But beauty soon perish and wildflowers decay.

'Yeah' beauty soon perish like flowers of November
And rose lose her petals and wither away
But God bless all humans with a mind that remember
And a scene such as this in the human mind stay.
